God is using anointed Women in Ministry in a mighty way to encourage, promote the Gospel, and be a guiding light to a world filled with fear, doubt, and unbelief. I pray Blessings upon you all who are called by His Name as you speak the Word, inspiring, uplifting, and reassuring others to " keep on keeping on!" Proverbs 20:15 declares , “There is gold and abundance of rubies; but the lips of knowledge are a rare jewel.” Rubies are beautiful and when cut and polished, become a many faceted, durable tool of worth. When a light is shined through them they develop the cutting edge, we know as the Laser Beam. Today’s Women in Ministry are multi-faceted, becoming valued tools for God, allowing Him to shine His light through them. They become Actional, Missional, and Relational through activating God’s word in a concrete formula of hope that radiates through the facets, becoming a cutting edge. They work daily to bring about a sense of community, exec...

From Madelyn’s Sunporch To all Homemakers Many of us have family heirloom and have no idea what to do with them. We don’t want to part with them because of the sweet, happy memories and childhood ties. It’s like being hooked to Mama’s apron strings, well, that can actually be true if you have a stash of Mama’s or Grandma’s old aprons. So, here I sit on my beautiful sunporch, with my deliciously flavored French Vanilla Coffee, sweet and creamy, in hand thinking about all the wonderful recollections I have, in the form of several vintage collectables that belonged to family members from long ago. It is quite acceptable to be sentimental and want to keep these many diverse kinds of memorabilia. Heirlooms epitomize the memories, history, and possessions of the family that have been gathered for possible generations. Many of them tell of the struggles, adventures, and countless pathways that were traveled. We prize the depression glass from the Great Depression Era and the glass button...

From Madelyn’s Sunporch To all Homemakers Relaxing on my sunporch, I am enjoying my coffee; yum, it is so delicious. Cradling my cup in my hands, not only are my hands warmed but my heart is too as I think about the many wonderful ways I have been blessed by people who love me. Rocking, I know that I have the “Blessing of Friendship.” Friendship is the perfect gift and fits all sizes. Friendship has many designer names, like honey, dear, sugar plum, pumpkin, sweet pea, and lovey. Actually, there are many more sweet names that express a person's heart and says so much, especially “I love you” and “ you are worth my time and energy.” Think about the friends you enjoy. Each one is unique, with their own personality, style, and their seasons of life will vary. Yes, we have friends of all ages and each one gives us something that makes us grow in wisdom, patience, and caring while sharing our hopes and dreams. Having friends that allow each other to...

From Madelyn’s Sunporch To all Homemakers Sitting here on my sunporch, I love the relaxed feeling I get. I enjoy the quiet and peaceful serenity of my surroundings. As I take a little time out from all the hurrying and scurrying I decide that it is time for an early summer tea party. I am not going to plan a large party but something slow and fun with just a few friends. There is nothing better than having friends in to exchange favorite recipes, family news, and inexpensive decorating ideas. Hosting a Tea party is a great way to celebrate our friendships, teach our children manners and create memories that we will treasure always. To do this party I consider the budget, how many I want to invite, my color scheme, and what type of food to serve. So, making a list might be the best way to accomplish this task. Start with yo...

From Madelyn’s Sunporch To all Homemakers What a glorious day to be sitting on my quiet, peaceful sunporch, my coffee cup in hand, delighting in the beautiful new green of the grass and the enchanting baby leaves waving in the breeze. Everything is whispering that it is spring time. As I sit here and rock, feeling quite content, I suddenly have a great awakening. Spring time, house cleaning, and that old conscience starts in. I rock and contemplate where should I start; the kitchen cabinets, the closets or the windows. As I drag myself up out of the rocker, I make an executive decision. I will clean the closets! Now just what is my strategy, I ask myself? I decide to do the shoes first so I get all those plastic bags I am saving to recycle and start sorting shoes. I make a thrift store pile, a throw away and the...
